Souls Unfractured - Cover Reveal

I am pleased to help reveal the cover for Tillie Cole's third book in her Hades Hangman series, Souls Unfractured.  Tillie's Hades Hangman Series is a dark contemporary romance revolving around the lives of the men in the Hades Hangman Motorcycle Club(MC).

You guys know how I love a beautiful cover and always fall in love with the covers of this series. I think one thing I love most about this is the juxtaposition between the cover and the story. There is a romanticism that goes along with the cover that we don't get as much of in the story.  The books are gritty, dirty, and raw on the inside but the outside is lovely, ethereal, and  passionate.

We haven't gotten a release date or book description yet, but I have been seeing lots of chatter about this book on the web so I am hoping we will see something soon on those two things.  Until then here is some information about the first two books in the series so you can get up to date before Souls Unfractured releases!

****Please keep in mind these are Dark New Adult Contemporary Romances, based around a MC and contain difficult subject matter.  These books should be read by mature readers...18 and up!****

 Book Description:

 Sinning never felt so good…

A fortuitous encounter.

A meeting that should never have happened.

Many years ago, two children from completely different worlds forged a connection, a fateful connection, an unbreakable bond that would change their lives forever…

Salome knows only one way to live—under Prophet David’s rule. In the commune she calls home, Salome knows nothing of life beyond her strict faith, nor of life beyond the Fence—the fence that cages her, keeps her trapped in an endless cycle of misery. A life she believes she is destined to always lead, until a horrific event sets her free.

Fleeing the absolute safety of all she has ever known, Salome is thrust into the world outside, a frightening world full of uncertainty and sin; into the protective arms of a person she believed she would never see again.

River ‘Styx’ Nash knows one thing for certain in life—he was born and bred to wear a cut. Raised in a turbulent world of sex, Harleys, and drugs, Styx, unexpectedly has the heavy burden of the Hades Hangmen gavel thrust upon him, and all at the ripe old age of twenty-six—much to his rivals’ delight.

Haunted by a crushing speech impediment, Styx quickly learns to deal with his haters. Powerful fists, an iron jaw and the skillful use of his treasured German blade has earned him a fearsome reputation as a man not to be messed with in the shadowy world of outlaw MC’s. A reputation that successfully keeps most people far, far away.

Styx has one rule in life—never let anyone get too close. It’s a plan that he has stuck to for years, that is, until a young woman is found injured on his lot… a woman who looks uncannily familiar, a woman who clearly does not belong in his world, yet a woman he feels reluctant to let go…

Book Description:

Even salvation can be delivered through the love of the damned…

Beauty can be a curse.

Faith can be a cage.

Only love can set you free.

A few long weeks after being reluctantly ripped from the comforting embrace of her sacred prophet’s religious commune—the only life she has ever known—a terrified Delilah is thrust into a world enveloped by evil and swimming in sin.

Steadfastly devout in her faith, and retaining the deep belief that her soul is innately tarnished as a branded ‘Cursed woman of Eve’, Delilah is determined to find her way home to her people in The Order and away from the corrupt and damned outlaw motorcycle club—The Hades Hangmen—who hold her at their secluded compound for her protection—a 'protection' she strongly resents.

Delilah yearns to return home, convinced that only amongst her own people, and under the holy guidance of the Lord’s revealed prophet, can her Satan-spawned soul be truly saved. Conditioned her entire life to believe she is a witch... a life-long temptress… the devil’s whore... Delilah increasingly resents her beautiful face, her shapely body and her sensuous effect on men. But when a man of the motorcycle club—a deeply sinful yet stunningly beautiful man—is charged with her care, Delilah begins to see that this dangerous and moralless sinner from the 'outside' may offer her something she did not know could truly exist: unconditional love.

Kyler ‘Ky’ Willis loves his life: a daily abundance of brotherhood, liquor, the freedom of the open-road and—best of all—his pick of hot women. Raised a biker brat and now VP of the most notorious MC in the States, Ky has no shortage of club sluts warming his bed; a situation he takes full advantage of… until a certain blonde enters his life… a gorgeous pilgrim-blonde he can’t get out of his head… a pilgrim-blonde he and his club recently-rescued from some backward religious cult… and a pilgrim-blonde he’s been ordered to keep the hell away from and his whorish hands off.

When yet another in a lengthy line of drunken blunders forces Ky to reluctantly take charge of the pilgrim-blonde’s care, he realizes that there could be more to this woman than just supermodel looks and a stacked set of tits. He begins to see that she could be the woman who could do the impossible—tame his wild ways and capture his reluctant heart.

But the unyielding bonds of Lilah’s past are strong, her ‘people’ determined and, with a new Prophet in charge and hell bent on revenge, they are mightily reluctant to let her go...

Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother — a farmer’s daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.

Raising_Caine_new_2400

Author: Kelli Ireland
Publication Date: April 7, 2015
Publisher: TKA Distribution
Series: The Key Guardians, book one
Genre: Paranormal / Urban Fantasy
Age Recommendation: 17 and up
Rating: 4 Stars

Book Description:
Hiding places are scarce when both Heaven and Hell intend to find you. Dani Fayel’s backbreaking job as a stable hand at The Freaks’ Fair isn’t glamorous, but for someone looking to keep to the shadows? It’s perfect. Neither paranormal freaks nor human norms ever notice her. But when Dani is forced to either let a child die in order to maintain her anonymity or choose to save him and risk being discovered, she finds herself unwillingly thrust into the spotlight. Cain, Hell’s premier assassin and a predatory incubus, is close to fulfilling his final contract and earning his freedom. Hired by the Archangel of Death to find his daughter, Cain follows her trail to the Fair. He works undercover, certain his mark is inside one of the portable canopies or traveling cages. Dead or alive, she equals his ticket to freedom. When Cain’s objective is divulged, Dani realizes she can’t outrun her destiny. As the fabled Key—the one soul with absolute free will who is tied to the three realms of Heaven, Earth and Hell—only she is capable of opening the gates for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Whoever frees the Horsemen allegedly commands them. Now both Heaven and Hell are vying for her allegiance, and there are no limits as to how dirty they’ll fight to obtain it. With Hell raining indiscriminate chaos as Heaven maneuvers its players around her, Dani realizes her would-be assassin may be the only man capable of helping her survive.

My Review:

Wow, so to say that my feelings for this book volleyed between wanting to chuck my Kindle and grasping it so tightly, unable to put it down is saying it lightly, haha.  There is just something about this book that makes you fall into the same love hate relationship that they two main characters have for one another.

Dani is a woman trying to hide her identity among the crowd.  In a world full of special people she knows, even if she doesn't truly understand the extent, that she puts the extra in extra special.  Dani lives in a society where 'norms'  and 'freaks'  co-exists, although the relationship is tenuous at best, where Angels and Demons walk the earth, and things are not always black and white. While at times I would have liked Dani to have just kicked everyone to the curb, I can understand her reasoning for trying to hang on to the little bit of a family she has created for herself, even if that family could and would turn on her in a heartbeat.  Left at the age of 8 to a 'foster system', kicked out before she was ready, and required to run in fear of others finding out her heritage Dani craves family to the marrow of her bones.  That craving makes her both a weak and a strong heroine.  I think that she has a lot of room to grow and I am really looking forward to seeing who she becomes in future books.  For Dani this is as much a coming of age story as it is a story of redemption for Cain.

Cain, Cain, Cain.... Where do I go with this character.  He has all the makings of an Alpha Male with a side of Incubus (can you imagine) thrown in, he is infuriating, and bossy, and underneath it all when he's being true to himself he is kind, gentle, compassionate, and caring.  I really liked Cain, even when I wanted to beat him senseless and when we discover his relationship with Armen and Noah (Oh Noah...there is so much I want to say about dear Noah but I can't tell you anything and truly that hurts me to the depth of my soul.) it is hard not to fall even farther under Cain's spell.

Now, I will say there is a lot...I am not kidding A LOT of back and forth with Cain and Dani.  They have all the chemistry in the world but neither of them are in a place to commit to it so they are constantly bouncing off one another (minds out of the gutter people!) and every time you think they have finally, FINALLY, 'zinged' (as they say in Hotel Transylvania) walls come up or a crisis occurs.  Now while that can be frustrating for us as romance fans it does leave things wide open for future books and when (no if, please no if Ms. Ireland) these two come together it is going to be epic.  A note about the romance aspect of this book.  It is in there, but keep in mind it is not the main focus, it is an ongoing subtle theme through out the book and it is a slow build, there is no insta-love here. The main theme of this book comes down (in my mind) to four different things, Trust, Friendship, Love, and Action.  This book is jammed pack with action and twists and turns.

This is a great read for paranormal and urban fantasy fans.  I am going to lean towards it being more of a hit with Paranormal fans but I think just about any one will enjoy this.  Keep in mind while Kelli Ireland throws you straight into the world she has created the real meat of the book is a slow build.  This is the first book in the series with hopefully a lot more to come in the near future so don't look for an HEA just yet and know that while you will get some closure on certain things others are left open.  Also Ms. Ireland....that end, you know that one particular part that I can't talk about.....Whhhhhhyyyyyyyyy???  *winks the tears out of my eyes.*

Can't wait for book two!!!!  Happy Reading Everyone!

My Review:

I have been anxiously awaiting this book since reading the Stark Trilogy.  I loved Damien and Nikki and was super excited when we were introduced to Jackson Steele in their last book.  He had a hard mysterious vibe that surrounded him and I couldn't wait to figure out exactly who he was.  Plus we were getting to see more of Damien's sweet personal assistant Sylvia who has been a fixture through out Nikki and Damien's relationship.

So what is it all about?  It's the story of a scarred and scared woman and a man who craves having the control he never had as a child.  A man who sets his sights on what he wants and doesn't back down until he gets it.  What he wants is what he lost 5 years ago when a girl walked into his life and turned it on it's head then ran and if it takes coercion with a side of revenge all the better.

What did I love?  I loved that Sylvia is determined, she is determined to see her dreams come true, at least those that pertain to her job.  I loved that Damien never doubts her abilities and when given the chance to help her grow he doesn't even hesitate.  I loved the relationship between Sylvia and her best friend Cass and I am hopeful that we will see more of her in the future, perhaps another spin off? I loved that we got to see more of Damien and Nikki, to find out how things are there way and how much they have grown individually (Damien has done some serious 'growing up' ) and as a couple.  I loved that Jackson knows what he wants and is driven to get it,but I also loved that you never felt like the pressure he places on Sylvia is forceful or that he wouldn't walk away from her if she said 'no'  In fact we know from very early on that he will do what she needs, what she asks of him even if it breaks his heart in the process.

What didn't I like, well I hate to say it but Jackson Steele and I never connected.  Man I wanted to love him, I wanted to love him so hard it was ridiculous.  I kept reading, turning the page thinking that any minute I was going to fall off that edge I was teetering on and boom, I'd have my newest book boyfriend in my hands. Sadly, something keeps me just there teetering.  He's got too many secrets and even after finding out what some of those are and one of them is a HUGE doozy of a secret, it feels like there is still even more hiding behind his eyes.  He begs Sylvia to open up, he basically demands it of her and yet he stays closed off.  It left me just liking him, not loving him and definitely not trusting him and the not trusting him part is hard for me.  I can be reading a book with the biggest arsehole/man-ho ever but know deep down that for all his faults he is trustworthy and accept him into my heart but I just couldn't do that with Jackson and that makes me really sad.  In fact I waffled between a 3 (I like it) and 4 (I really liked it) rating for this book primarily for the reason that I could not click with Jackson.  Why did I decide on 4 stars? Because I know that there is a chance for him yet.  Jackson and Sylvia's story is far from over and I can see a future where I will finally teeter off that cliff and land soundly in Jackson Steele's lap.

If you liked the previous Stark novels you will like this one.  There is a great romance here waiting to unfold, action, surprises, plot twists and turns that will keep you moving forward and rooting for the HEA you know Sylvia and Jackson deserve.  If you like contemporary romances with a side of kink you will enjoy this read.  My one caveat is that everyone needs to know there is a history of abuse in this story that could be a challenge for some readers.  There are no terribly graphic details of said abuse, but it is a main theme of the book and could be painful for some readers so please keep that in mind.  I think it is a book worth reading, especially if you have a lazy day (maybe a beach day, haha) and can pick it up with out planning to put it down because I think once you get started you won't want to quit until you are done.  There is a bit of a cliff hanger, but it sets us up nicely for the next book and doesn't leave you wanting to chuck your book or e-reader at the nearest wall. All in all I thought this was a great read and I am really looking forward to seeing where J. Kenner takes this couple and I am looking forward to my eventual fall!  Happy Reading everyone!

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Dani.” I whipped around, still brandishing the shovel like a weapon, and my hat hit the dirt. Tipton, my boss and the Fair’s Beast Whisperer, headed toward me purposefully, his long strides devouring the distance between us. He was part demon with an uncanny gift for working with and managing the Fair’s animals. But I wasn’t interested in any of that. He wouldn’t be here unless— “Blythe called in sick. You’re going to have to pull a double.” He held up a hand to stave off my retort. “No help for it and you know it.” “Son of a bitch, Tip, you know that’s not right,” I huffed, driving the shovel tip into the ground, my frustration at being startled bleeding over into irritation with my co-worker. I started to curse her but stopped abruptly. With my pedigree, malicious thoughts were a manifest bad idea whether backed by intent or not. Even if my suspicions were right and I lacked any significant abilities, the risks were simply too high. If banshees were rare, then angels were infinitely rarer. And archangels? They were simply off-the-charts of scientific study. I was the daughter of a banshee and an archangel. My parents’ genetics—banshee mother, Archangel of Death father—had guaranteed my own pedigree would revolve around death manifest. It was a terrifying proposition, the idea I might accidentally cause someone’s death by cursing him a little too exuberantly when pissed off. Worse was the fear I might be found out. See, because I was an absolutely unique hybrid, I’d be a goldmine of information to the government, scientists, religious zealots and mystics alike…except for the fact I really was a total null. I was neither angelic nor a banshee, didn’t morph into anything whatsoever, and the only significant skill I had was in foretelling death when I touched a person with the palms of my hands. Of course, it might not matter to any of them, though, and I’d be just as likely to find myself institutionalized again, my own life out of my control. I began to breathe harder and tremble. The idea that every stop could be the one where someone found me out made me want to pack up and run. But I craved what had become my home and cherished my privacy. So I would stay here, in the shadows, as long as the Fates would allow it. Tipton watched with narrowed eyes as I gathered myself from my little internal Fear Fest and got back to the conversation at hand—the one that would have me pulling a double shift. “I get stuck picking up her hours every time she takes someone new to her bed.” He arched a heavy brow. “You paying attention to who’s bedding who now?” I fought to meet the big man’s orange-flecked eyes, ignoring the blush that burned my cheeks. “I’m just saying I shouldn’t be held accountable for the apparent fact my co-worker does more work on her back than she does while standing on her own two feet.” Tipton rubbed his upper lip hard, but he couldn’t suppress the grin. A deep chuckle reverberated through his massive chest. “True enough. I’ll talk to her. Doesn’t change the fact I’ve got to have you around to make sure the animals are prepped and ready for the matinee and to start evening feeds.” Some days being the dependable one in a group sucked ass.

The Bet - Excerpt and One Day Sale!

I so can't wait to read this. I have pretty much fallen head over heels for Rachel Van Dyken with her Eagle Elite series and after reading the hilarious excerpt below I can not wait to read this one.  Make sure to snatch it up today while it is on sale!!!

 Book Description:

"I have a proposition for you." Kacey should have run the minute those words left Seattle millionaire Jake Titus's mouth. It's been years since Kacey's seen her childhood friend Jake, but the minute Jake mentions his ill grandmother, Kacey is ready to do anything for the sweet old woman. And if that means pretending they're engaged for her sake-so be it.

But Kacey wasn't counting on Jake's older brother Travis still being there. She calls him "Satan" for a reason: she's never forgotten the way he teased and taunted her. Yet when they meet again, Travis's gorgeous smile is a direct hit to her heart . . . and Kacey's more confused than ever. As the days pass, only one thing starts to become alarmingly clear-she never should have accepted Jake's deal . . .

“You’re pregnant!” she shouted, nearly dropping her tea to the floor. “Oh my heavens! Oh dear me. Oh, Grandma’s going to be so delighted!”

“I’m not—” Kacey argued.

“She’s not telling anyone yet,” Travis interrupted with a devilish smirk. “You know, the media and all that.”

“Oh, oh, oh!” Bets scurried around the room until she finally stopped in front of a few shelves. “Oh honey, don’t you remember when you and Jake used to play house? And Travis…” Bets looked at Travis and pointed. “Didn’t you play with them? Because they needed an extra person to stand in for the…”

“Dog.” Kacey smiled at Travis and stifled a giggle. “He was our dog when we played house.”

“Oh, how nice.” Bets winked at Travis and returned to digging out scrapbooks. “I’m sure I have some pictures we can use for the wedding.”

Kacey, still trying to gain control of her panic, swallowed before asking, “Why do we need pictures?”

“You know.” Bets waved her hand in the air. “For the video montage! You have to have a video montage! They’re all the rage. You know, baby pictures, prom pictures, that sort of thing. Guests love it!”

“But what about Vegas?” Kacey asked in a hopeful voice.

“Posh.” Bets shook her head vigorously. “We’ll pay for the entire thing. And you’ll get married here, at Titus Abbey.”

“Swell,” Kacey mumbled, then glared in Travis’s direction. He was gone. She leaned across the sofa and noticed him in the kitchen opening a beer. Oh, nectar of the gods! Just when she needed something strong the most, and Jake’s family thought she was pregnant.

Oh God. She was going to have to be a closet drinker. She would have to sneak down to the kitchen just to snag some tequila to numb the guilt and pain. His parents were going to kill her, and they would hate her forever. Which meant she actually had to marry Jake and then turn a blind eye to his inability to keep his pecker in his pants. And then she’d start hoarding and buying cats in order to fill the void in her life.

The drinking would get worse. Jake would hate her, and in a final desperate attempt to regain her youth, she’d die on the table trying to get plastic surgery.

This. Could. Not. Happen!

“I, uh, I’m going to see what Travis is up to!” Kacey bolted from her chair and ran into the kitchen.
