Just when she thinks things can't get any more confusing, Abram returns . . . What happens next? Only TIME will tell.

My Review:

It is safe to say that I became addicted to this series in book one, Motion, and stayed tht way through all three books.  I waited anxiously for each installment and was completely devoted to Mona and Abram's happiness, but only if that happiness was as a couple, thank goodness Penny Reid loves a good HEA!

Abram has to be one of my favorite book boyfriends ever, he's everything you want a guy to be, intelligent, sexy, kind, thoughtful, a bit of an alpha but not jerk alpha; just totally and completely swoon worthy!  But it's not all just about Abram, though I can't tell you enough how much I adore him, Mona is completely awesome, she is exactly all those things that Abram is and it's hard not to fall head over heels into love with her.

Their story is one that you have to experience from beginning to end with out my interference.  You need to go in a bit blind so that you can let their relationship build and slowly, so that you can let the beauty of everything that happens come over you like a wave.  That said I don't want to tell you too much.  What you should know is that Penny does a wonderful job of bringing this couple together, and finishing up their HEA in a way that leaves you completely happy and satisfied.  In fact I am really sad that their story has come to it's end because I need more, but I am completely hopeful that we will get Mona's sibling's stories, I need them Penny, NEEEEED THEM!

This book, this series will leave you with all the feels, if you are a contemporary romance fan this needs to be a must read on your summer reading list and lucky you the series is now complete so you won't have the agony of waiting to find out what happens next, I am kinda jealous of you right now.  Do not wait to get this one, when you need a perfect summer romance this series needs to be your go to!

~ HAPPY READING ~

Excerpt:

I wrapped my arms around her body, lifted her off the ground, and kissed her lips. She was warm, and soft, and tasted like peppermint and honey. I bit back a groan. God, she felt good. Great. Celestial. Heavenly. I may have surprised her, but she responded immediately, enthusiastically, twisting her arms around my neck, opening her mouth and welcoming the invasion of mine. It wasn’t enough. It was a crumb, and I was starving. Desire—to tighten my hold, devour, take, keep, cherish, to never let her go—obscured thought and sight, and I slipped a hand under her shirt to touch the silky skin of her back, sliding my fingers upward until they rested under her bra strap. Mona lifted her chin, breaking our mouths apart, and I kissed the point of it, the elegant line of her jaw, the tender spot beneath her ear, the hot skin where Mona’s graceful neck met the slope of her shoulder. I was so hungry for her, I couldn’t stop myself from tasting every exposed inch. “Abram,” she said, her voice a breathless, disbelieving whisper, followed by a little laugh. Her fingers flexed at the back of my neck, pressing me closer. Every part of my body hummed and vibrated, unable to contain the immensity of now, of this divine feeling. “You’re here,” she said, her soft voice full of wonder and happiness, soothing the ravenous panic holding me hostage for the past six days. It had been a peculiar kind of madness, not being able to reach her while pretending all was fine, pretending she didn’t occupy my mind every second of the day. But receding now, it left a new kind of turmoil and urgency in its wake. We had no time. No, I corrected myself, We have time. We have the rest of our lives. “I need your fu—your phone number.” I spoke gruffly against her neck, squeezing my eyes shut and breathing her in, again and again, the heat and sweetness of Mona. I’d missed her, and that was a gross understatement. I’d been speeding toward this moment for days and being with her now felt like the aftermath of a head-on collision. Stupefied, frantic, but determined to enjoy every shared second remaining. My hands were shaking. We have time. Calm down. Calm down. Mona laughed lightly, the sound melodic, beautiful, and she pressed a kiss under my ear. “Why didn’t you just ask Leo? Or send me an email?” Leo. I worked to keep the darkness of my thoughts from showing on my face as I leaned away, letting her slide to the ground but unwilling to release her fully, fisting my unsteady hands into her T-shirt. “I couldn’t find an email for you anywhere, and neither could Marie. She tried calling your department for me. They told her all media requests had to go through the PR department at the university and it would take two weeks to a month for a response.” “Ah, that’s true. My email is on lockdown, otherwise it gets out of hand.” She nodded contritely. “But what about Leo?” “Leo.” I forced my jaw to relax and I lowered my voice but couldn’t completely disguise the intensity of my wrath. “Leo wouldn’t give me your number.” Mona’s hand moved to my face, her palm pressed against my cheek, the pads of her fingers softly stroking my beard. “What? Are you serious?” “Yes,” I ground out. “He said he was doing me a favor. So I flew to LA.” “You flew to LA?” I felt her body tense, and the moment realization dawned, her beautiful eyes growing impossibly large as they moved over my face. “You must be so tired and—but I wasn’t in LA, I was—” “Here. Yes. I found that out yesterday when I stopped by your department at Caltech and they told me you weren’t due back until Friday,” I rushed to explain, multitasking, using the time to devour the sight of her, soak and submerge in the reality of being here with her. Calm down. We. Have. Time.

Book Description:

The first time we met was at a party.

Your ex arrived to show off the person he'd left you for last month, and you asked me to pretend to be your date.

I was more than happy to help. You were attractive, smart and witty--and that kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days.

The second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to discover you were the new master’s degree student in poetry that I would be working with. You promised to be professional. I did no such thing.

The late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off my game. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact.

I know I'm crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. If that's the only reaction I can get out of you, I'll gladly take it.

You hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag and your smile gets me through the week.

I think I'm falling for you, and I know it's wrong. I know that I'm only supposed to be your adviser and nothing more, but here's the thing. I think you're falling for me too.

xo, Zach

My Review:

As always Kendall Ryan has given us a book that brings light into our lives.  A sweet read full of smiles, perhaps a little heartache, and a swoon-worthy love.

XO, Zach was a bit spring for me because of well...Zach.  He is a wonderfully refreshing hero.  He's not a millionaire, not a bad boy, not a moody emo sort, not an Alpha.  He is a hard working, dreaming, soft spoken, (though a bit crass at times, but in a way that makes you love him all the more) caring, respected, sweet man with the soul of a poet...actually his poetry isn't all that great but I am so very jealous of Poppy for getting to receive it.  I loved that as much as he tried to hide his heart it was always more visible than he knew.  I hated that at times Poppy couldn't see it, but of course it is always the person involved who is the last to see it.  Which makes me think of the secondary characters..

Zach's mom,  god love her she was excellent.  She would have mortified me to no end had she been my parent (as parents are want to do) but the love that shined from her for her son made my heart feel blessed to see it.  The woman has no filter and will tell it exactly as it is, but in a way don't we all wish we had that freedom?  Now, Poppy's friends.  I loved them too.  I loved how good they were to Poppy, though I felt occasionally they didn't really take her feelings into account in some situations, that said they were always there for her when she needed them with a laugh, a hug, and a bottle of tequila.  I kind of want more of them, though I am not sure that will be happening.  I'd love to see them get their HEAs too.  Oh, which reminds me again of Zach's mom. So I know that it isn't going to happens in fact Kendall wraps up her story arc nicely, but I'd kind of love it if there was a second chance romance that happened there.  You will know what I mean when you read it.  And his dad, my heart breaks for his dad...yeah...second chance romance is called for.

Back to our main characters and on to Poppy.  What an amazing woman she is.  Yes, she has some fairly major hangups and no I am not talking about the surprise.  I am talking about mental and emotional hang-ups, but what kind of book would we have if she didn't have them?  Our Heroine has a lot going on and she has had to fight to get where she is but I love that she is taking what she wants out of life and showing those around her that it isn't about trying it is about doing.  No doubt life has not been easy and getting to where she is has come with a cost, but she never quit.  Poppy set her mind to taking the life she wanted and she made it happen.  I wish I had gotten to understand her family dynamic with her parents better.  It is clear that the family relationship is strained but also that they would be there for each other.  I just wasn't sure how much of the strain was due to Poppy not wanting to ask for help or her parents not being willing to give more than they already did. But that is probably an entirely different book and I am more than happy with the one we got, haha.

Zach and Poppy together are so cute and steamy.  Their attraction is immediate, though this is not an insta love by any means.  Their chemistry is off the charts and the chase, it will have your heart pounding but not with anxiety, just with anticipation and finally steamy melting swoon.

Xo, Zach is just the book you need if you are in a book funk.  It is a fairly quick read that will make you smile and just plain feel the love when you are done.  Kendall Ryan writes some of my favorite heroes but Zach just pushed them all down the list and now sits at the top with his handsome smirk, eyebrow raised,  a tattooed arm propped up on a bent knee and a crooked crown sitting on his head.
