Behind the doors of the House of Sin, no one is ever safe… I love him. It’s the only truth that matters now. I’ve cast my old life aside and given myself fully to his wants and desires, to the fire he alone ignites inside me. And together, we’ve found strength and salvation in each other. But there are evil forces, people who see me as a threat that must be undone. I trust that our love can withstand any test, but I can’t ignore the growing shadows lurking beyond our door. Because I understand now that those shadows are not waiting to destroy me as I once feared. They’ve come for him. To steal him away from me for good. And to finally and completely engulf him in a sinister world he’s eluded for so long. In the inescapable darkness of the House of Sin…

My Review:

This was an interesting series for me, one that I will admit in the beginning I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but by the end I was completely enraptured with.

Throughout the series we have watched Natalie and Luc fall into a deep and honest love.  There were moments of frustration with them where I almost put the book down and stepped away from it, but when all is said and done their mutual lust and first sight becomes a bond that can be torn away and I loved that about this story.  I loved that even when one of them was all drama they never let it stay with them for long.  They learned the very hard lesson of trust and communication and it tool all three books to get there, but it was worth it in the end.

As odd as it may seem, another thing I loved were the truly emotionally painful moments. This book has some pretty darn moments, moments that might leave the reader completely disgusted with the nature of the 'Sin' that occurs, and honestly it should.  It should leave you appalled at what these people think acceptable and even at times I was appalled with Luc for not standing up to fight it sooner.  I see his reasoning but at the same time you just want to yell at him to make it all stop.  It does all come to a head in the most dramatic ways, and it will leave you shocked at the brutality of it but also cheering because finally, FINALLY the good guys are winning.

Thankfully for us, the reader, Elisabeth does a wonderful job of taking these harsh moments and bringing them back down and luckily it's mostly through some pretty damn hot steamy moments, ha. I also loved that her characters acknowledged that they used sex as a way to communicate with each other, to find their common and stable ground.  I read so many romance books where every time the characters have a problem the have sex and suddenly everything is okay.  There was a moment in this story where I started to feel that, ugh, not again...can't you just talk to one another feeling but just at that age moment Luc recognized that they weren't fixing their relationship but by having these steam filled moments they were reconnecting and allowing themselves to take a moment and remember who they are together.  It was a really bright spot for me to have the characters say 'yeah, we know, every time you turn around we're making up in a bed but we aren't, not really, we're just coming back together so that we can talk.'

I really adored this love story, even without all the drama that unfolded around them.  They took us on quite the ride but each step of the way they showed the reader that love does not come easy, it must be worked on, couple must trust in one another, they must communicate, they must forgive.  In the end I love the way it wrapped up for Natalie and Luc, it honestly could not have ended any better...wait, well unless someone took care of Luc's mom, I would have been all down for that, but maybe she'll get hers yet because I’m going crazy feeling like this is not quite the end....dun dun duuuuuuunnnnnn.  Elisabeth Naughton wraps of Luc and Natalie's story, they are HEAing it up right now and I am so happy for them but she leaves just this little hanging possibility that the story isn't quite over and I am totally ready for more!

~ HAPPY READING ~

All the Rage by T.M. Frazier - Release Day tour

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about this book.  I fell in love with this world TM Fraizer created after reading King and I have only managed to embed myself more into it with each book she has published.  After meeting Rage in Lawless I knew the minute she entered the picture I had to know her story.  So here it is and I am hanging the SHHHHH, MOM IS READING sign out and diving in, I hope you will too soon!

I have to choose.

The only life I ve ever known has to die, or he does.

Either way, I ll be the one pulling the trigger...

Prologue:

It was once said that if you love someone enough you should let them go. If they come back to you, they were always meant to be yours.

It's kind of bullshit.

My story was a little different than most. I was a little different than most.

Because in my story, if you love someone enough, you should first drop the gun.

Soulless by T.M. Frazier - Excerpt Reveal

Let's just add in a whole lot of fan-girl type screaming here!
I can not wait for this book!

Bear & Thia’s epic finale releases on
23 February 2016

Excerpt:

"I'll deal with you when we get back to the house," Bear snapped, his words loaded with so many different meanings I trembled with both fear and anticipation.

"You're going to deal with me?" I asked. "How are you going to deal with me?" My attitude and confidence faded with each word until the last was merely a whisper.

"Yes, DEAL with you," Bear warned, suddenly pausing to take in my appearance. Slowly, from top to bottom, like he’d only just realized I was standing there. His eyelids hung heavy over his sapphire blues as he licked my body with his eyes, drinking me in like he was thirsty.

No, not thirsty.

Hungry.

When he licked his lips I could have sworn he was about to eat me alive. I tingled all over. The awareness of him in such close proximity after so long washed over me. Angry or not, my body didn’t care. I didn’t care. I wanted to reach out and touch his face, reassure him that he had no reason to be angry, but part of me liked that I could draw that kind of reaction from him. He came alive when he was pissed, and something inside me loved that he became this primal possessive beast out to remind me who it was I belonged to.

Bear clenched his jaw and the muscles in his neck tensed and strained. He looked as if he were ready to either kill or fuck. All I knew was that, one way or another, I was about to de devoured.

I pressed my thighs together, trying to manage the pulsing between my legs, but the contact only ignited it further. Bear chuckled and glanced down to where my ankles were crossed. He closed the gap between us in two short strides, taking me off guard. I stumbled backward, tripping over a lose rock in the road. he reached out and roughly grabbed my arm before I could fall, pulling me flush into his hard chest. His warm skin radiated through my thin dress. I bit my lip, suppressing a moan. My legs grew weaker and weaker as he lowered his head, inching closer and closer, until I was sure his lips were going to meet mine, when without warning he released my arm and spun away. "Get in the fucking truck, Ti," he called back to me.

I stood there, unable to move, and trying to catch my breath while he headed over to King’s truck like that moment never passed between us. When he noticed I wasn’t behind him he growled and stalked back over to me. He grabbed me by the waist, his fingers digging into my skin. He lifted me up, my short dress bunching up over my butt cheeks and slung me over his shoulder like I was a rolled up rug.

Wack.

He slapped my ass with his open palm. Hard. The bite of the smack stung where I was sure he’d left his mark. He tossed me into the truck with a caveman grunt and slammed the door behind me.

I was confused as all hell.

I was so angry.

I was also elated.

I was in lust so hard that I was in physical pain.

I was really fucking angry.

I was head over heels in love.

Motherfucker.

Series:  King series, book 3, Lawless series book 1

~ I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ~

Book Description:

Thia is prim and proper.
Bear is leather and lawless.
It will never work between them.
It's a lie they almost believe.

*It is necessary to first read King and Tyrant to fully enjoy Lawless.*

My Review:

What does one say about this book.  It is brutal.  It is gripping.  It is emotional. It is sexy.  It is pain and it is beauty.  If you read King and Tyrant you had to know getting into Bear's story was going to be all of those things, what you didn't know was how much Thia herself would affect you.  If you think that Bear's past was painful you will find that Thia's could be considered much worse.  Yes Bear's past was brutal...the things that he lives through...well, I don't even know how he is still functioning even if his idea of 'living' is wasting away his days with women, drugs, and alcohol...but Thea's past and present are heart breaking. It may be the mother in me that both struggles with the situation and yet sees knowingly how it all came to be.

I don't want to give you details about what happens with her family and how exactly it is that she finds herself in need of Bear's help and protection as it is such an integral part of the story and you need it to be laid out in front of you during your read...as is often heard in books, (and actually drives me a bit mad so I can't believe I am going to say this...) 'it is not my story to tell.'

I loved how T.M. Frazier begins the story in a flashback.  We are taken back 7 years prior and to the day that fate brought Abel (Bear) McAdams into Cynthia (Thia, not Cindy) Andrews life.  Man I loved the pluck of this little girl.  She, even at ten years old had a strength to her that she would carry forward into her 'adult' years that surpasses most peoples abilities.  I also loved that her strength, was tempered by a very real vulnerability and kindness.  She, like Bear (although he would never admit to such a thing) has an open and giving heart.  Backing up a little to what I just said, here was one of my major sticking points in giving this book a 5 star review...Thia is 18 to Bears  28.  Now typically I am not too bothered by age, but I guess what bothered me is how little it seemed to bother Bear.  Yes, yes...Bear is not a good guy.  These books aren't about good guys, but Bear to me is a guy that underneath his rough exterior and bad-assery would think heavily on the fact that this girl is still so young.  Is she wise beyond her years, is she legally an adult, is she more than capable of making her own choices and decisions, yes.  Am I saying that this relationship should not have occurred at all, no.  What I wish I had seen was a little more struggle on Bear's part about this aspect.  'He may be a 'Lawless' A-hole, but he's not %100 percent a dick!'

(Had to get my gratuitous Chris Pratt in there, even if Chris Pratt isn't in it, ha)

Something that I absolutely loved, LOVED is the amount of King and Ray we get and the way we get to see how much King has grown since his storyline.  He's tempered and thoughtful, but still completely badass to the core.

"You'll get it one day.  You'll have your own to worry about, and then you'll realize that the psycho you thought you were, the one no one was stupid enough to f*^k with, should be very f*^cking afraid of the psycho you will become to protect your family." - King

And our boy Preppy...he's here too.  I am so glad that we still get pieces of him, that he continues to be an integral part of the story, because well....Preppy.  I want to say so much more on this topic but in case you haven't read King and Tyrant yet I don't want to ruin anything for you, just know that once you let Preppy into your heart, and you will...you like King and Bear will never be without him again.  I don't often wish for different outcomes in books and when I do I am usually so irritated with the author that I can't even think their name with out fuming, haha...but with this one I am not angry, just sad and even though I know things had to go the way they did I wish dearly that they had not.  T.M. Frazier, is there anyway to turn this into a 1980's Dallas moment (dating myself here, ugh) you know the moment I'm talking about right ?

There are so many things to love about this book.  Mrs Frazier's writing style is flowing and easy...any twists and turns are spelled out clearly and while there is suspense and intrigue you aren't left scratching your head at what occurs.  Some things might seem a bit far fetched, but hey it is a book and book life is not real life so just sit back and enjoy it.  Her books are intense and fast paced, they are on the shorter side of what I would consider a full length novel but they are not novellas.  She will suck you into her world with in a matter of sentences and keep you there until the very end.  She will crush you with the depth of her characters and their 'darkness' but keep you coming back for more because of their strength, loyalty, emotion, and at the heart of it all their enormous capacity to both love and hate.  Bear's story like King's is raw, gritty, dirty, ugly, tragic, at times truly beautiful.  I will say that at the end of Lawless you may want to toss your book and call Mrs. Frazier all sorts of dirty words, the same words you just read in her book, because yes...she leaves us on a doozy of a cliff....but lucky for us we don't have to wait too long, Soulless, will be out in February.  So while I think you should read this now, if you can't handle a cliff-hanger hold on until then and read them both at once.  If you have not read King and Tyrant, I highly suggest you do.  Do you HAVE to no, but as the author says, "It is necessary to first read King and Tyrant to FULLY enjoy Lawless." and I want you to enjoy it!

This is an ADULT DARK contemporary romance...there are scenes that can be particularly difficult to read, abuse, rape, drugs, death...know that going in.  If you have triggers consider these things before reading this book.  Please go into these stories with a mature and open mind.  They are beautiful stories but they are surrounded by a lot of ugliness and sexuality.  If you love Dark Contemporary Romance don't pass up this story, if you are a fan of MC (motorcycle club, biker) books don't pass up this story.  If you are a fan of strong men, even stronger women, and characters that are searching for their place in the world, for love and acceptance, for redemption, and honor in a world of pain read this story.  Bear and Thia are two beautiful souls  clawing their way out of hell together and I think you will love them as much as I do.

~ HAPPY READING ~

Excerpt

“I’m going to remember this as the worst time in my entire life. The very worst.” She shook her head. “There is nothing I can do to change that.  Girls my age are playing sports, going to dances and parties, kissing boys.  And that’s never been me.  I’ve had a full time job at the grove and a part time job at the Stop-N-Shop. I’ve done nothing over the last few years except work my ass off and watch my family fall apart. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse…now all this.”  She waived around to the house and to me and let out an awkward laugh. She took another hit off the bowl, passing it back to me.  Her coughing much less than it was on her first try.
“Ti, how old are you?”  I asked, clearing my throat as I ventured into territory I knew I shouldn’t.  She was a pistol, even if she was a sad one, but there was a wave of innocence about her that had me both feeling bad for her and salivating for a taste of her.
This is for her, not you. I told myself.  It was only a partial lie.
“Seventeen,” She said, sniffling.  “Eighteen soon.”
“You ever been kissed?” I asked, her eyes met mine. “And not a peck on the cheek or a brief smack of the lips, but a real fucking kiss? One that leaves you without air in you lungs and your thighs pressing together in search of more?”  I said, my voice coming out deep and strained.  My cock coming alive at the thought of tracing my tongue along her pump lips.
“Why?” She whispered, and as soon as the words left her mouth I knew there would be no coming back from what I was about to do.
I pushed off the fire pit and pulled her up off the chair, pressing her tits into my chest and my straining cock against her stomach.  I tipped her chin up and looked into her confused emerald greens. She followed my thumb with her eyes as I traced her bottom lip.  There were too many lines marring her face, questioning what it was I was up to.  I knew she would try to pull away at any second, try to stop me.  But it was too late for that.
I was beyond stopping.
Just one taste.
“Answer the question,” I pressed.
“No,” she said with a slight shake of her head, and before she could try to argue, I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers.
I was already going to hell.
Might as well enjoy the ride there.

And if that excerpt wasn't enough look at this bit of gorgeousness it's the finale to Bear and Thia's epic love story.

(Gratuitous Chris Pratt moment (oh look I did get him in there) and some serious swooning going on for that cover, don't tell Chris. *winks*)
