The town of Bliss, Colorado, offered Hope McLean a second chance at life, a gift she cherishes every day. Her past was dominated by dark secrets and regret, most of which centered on a man named Christian Grady. All of that was behind her now, years of horror distilled down into the occasional nightmare or a random feeling of being watched. Surrounded by new friends, she tried hard to leave the past where it belonged—in the rearview mirror. Raised together, James Glen and Noah Bennett were the best of friends. They dreamed of growing up in Bliss, finding love, and settling down to share their lives on the Circle G ranch. James would manage the day-to-day operations of the ranch while Noah served the town as the resident veterinarian. Everything was perfectly planned out, until a woman came between them and their future shattered. My Review:

I am always happy to dive into a Lexi Blake Bliss book, they just make me happy.  I love the characters of this town and that is what they are, true characters.  Their personalities and quirks just make me giggle and wish that I could find a little town like that to call my own.  A place where everyone is accepted for who they are (unless you are trying to hurt one of their won) and where they stand side by side with one another against prejudices and hatred.  I love how they protect their town, their friends, their loved ones, and their way of life.

I have to say I went into this one thinking I wasn't going to like the prodigal son.  In the beginning he really came off as a jerk, I mean I got what was going on, he was a 'lost boy' who thought he had been found, but the way he just walked away rubbed me the wrong way.  Of course I think that was the intent all along.  Noah needed to be able to come back in to the fold and prove that he was truly as much a part of the town to himself more than anyone else.  He had to see that he was needed, wanted, and desired, not for the family he grew up with, but for the man he was.  James...James, so many times I kinda wanted to thump him on the head, a very hard head!  That man is stubborn but in the end he had to be to keep his world together after everyone he loved had left him, in some instances abandoned him.  Oh and Hope, this woman stole my heart.  She fought her way from a naive young lady to a battle tested woman who never once lost her heart.  She is so full of light and love, but do not let that misjudge her, this woman has a spine of steel and is not afraid to straighten it.  She reminded me a bit of sweet Nell!

These Nights in Bliss books are a true guilty pleasure that bring more to the table than just a steamy romance, but characters that you will fall in love with and a community that you will want to be a part of.  They are a wonderful escape from the real world and should be a must read on your TBR!

Book Description:

Laura Niles walked out the door and never looked back. As she left Washington, DC, her career was in ruins and her love life decimated. Her desperate flight eventually led her to Bliss, Colorado, where she managed to find a new home and a little peace. That will have to be enough because Laura cannot imagine finding happiness without the men she left behind. For five years, Rafe Kincaid and Cameron Briggs have searched for the only woman they ever loved. When she disappeared, everything became crystal clear. For one night, everything had been perfect and instead of embracing what they had found, they let it all slip away. They had let worries about their FBI careers and what others might think destroy the most precious gift they had ever been given. Now they have finally tracked her down, and they want answers. Laura is shocked when her former loves show up in her new home. When the full force of the FBI arrives with them, Laura knows that the quirky little town is in for a rough ride. The killer that ruined her life has been watching and waiting for the opportunity to strike again. For Rafe, Cam, and Laura it’s time for second chances — to stop a monster, and to reclaim everything they lost.

My Review:

I really enjoyed Lost in  I think because the suspense aspect of this one was so much more diabolical   I don't know but that just really made it fresh for me, but the romance wasn't quite what I have come to love in this series.

I loved that we got the Bliss charm that we have grown to love, though I wouldn't have minded a bit more of the quirky.  The romance between the three main characters was swoon worthy but it was also missing a little bit and I think it was just Rafe and Carmeron throwing me off.  I loved them individually...though it takes Rafe a long time to get himself in the game and I wanted to shake him a time or two, but the constant back and forth with turns threw me off for a long time in this book.  Typically the MFM seems to work so seemlessly together that I don't even notice that it's an a-typical relationship, but this one kind of set me on edge a little.  I wanted them to just get it together for the majority of the book and realize that they can make a threesome work.

This story is really a second chance romance read, the love that can never be forgotten.  I adored how Cameron spent years of his life with the sole goal of tracking his love down.  I loved the redemption aspect for both heroes but also especially for Rafe who I think needed redemption more than any one else out of the threesome.  He needed his butt proverbially kicked and he gets it in this book.  Laura is the firecracker we never knew she was but always hoped was under there.  I adored that she wasn't willing to settle and to let those two men profess to love her but not truly understand what it means to love her.  Even if this doesn't end up being your favorite of the series I know that it will still have you wanting more and more!

I loved the set up for the coming books, oh how my heart breaks for Logan, his story is going to be an emotional roller coaster I just know.  Caleb the town Dr, I can't wait for your book and for our local Russian and our sweet Holly to straighten you out, haha.

Bring me ack to Bliss, Colorado!  I can't wait for book 5!

~ HAPPY READING ~

Excerpt:

Rafe didn’t miss the way Laura’s body went still, her muscles stiffening where a moment before she’d been laughing with her friends. She changed the second she became aware of them. It wasn’t the greeting he would prefer. Back when they were friends, when she would see him coming, her whole body would go soft and a welcoming smile would transform her face from something professional to an intimate visage, one only meant for someone close to her. He’d taken great pride in the fact that he’d only ever seen that look on her face for one other person. “Hello, bella.” She frowned at him. Even with her lips turned down, she was stunning. She looked only slightly out of place in her yellow heels. The rest of her outfit was charmingly Western. She had on a full cotton skirt, a yellow tank top, and a light denim jacket. It wasn’t far off from what many of the other women were wearing, yet Laura made it seem elegant. Everything she did had an air of grace to it, even when she was bitching at him. “I thought I asked you to stop calling me that.” He wasn’t going to let her push him. He gave her what he hoped was an easy smile. “And I asked you to stop calling me asshole. I doubt you’ve done that. Dance with me.” Her eyes widened, a look of horror crossing her face. “No.” “Come on, baby. Don’t say no.” Cam crowded her, but she held her ground. Those heels were planted firmly in the grass beneath her. “I can’t dance with you until you dance with him. I lost the coin flip.” “Oh, that’s romantic.” Her hands found her hips, and those gorgeously full lips pursed. “Every woman in the world wants to be won by the flip of a coin.” “We didn’t have time to play cards,” Rafe admitted. He was well aware that people were listening in. Oh, they were pretending to be doing other things, but they leaned over and then talked behind their hands. The citizens of Bliss seemed to be enjoying the drama. Damn, he couldn’t get used to it. In DC, no one paid a bit of attention to what was going on around them. He tried to ignore it. “We weren’t sure how else to handle it, bella. You have to teach us.” Her lips rose in a sarcastic grin. “See, that’s easy. Let me teach you how to handle a situation like this. You both turn around and walk out the way you came in. You get in your car and drive to Alamosa and get on a plane back to DC.” Cam sighed. “That’s not going to happen.” Cam ran a hand up her arm, and Rafe was satisfied with the way she shivered. She still responded to Cam. Would she respond to him? He reached out and took her hand, studying it. Her hand was small in his, her skin fair against his olive tone. Her nails weren’t as long as she used to keep them, but they were still manicured and painted a pretty pink. “Come on and dance with me. We came all this way. We’ve looked for so long. Can’t you spare a moment of your time? I promise to behave.” He wouldn’t behave. He had every intention of reminding her of the chemistry they’d had, but he wasn’t going to announce it. “Fine.” She pushed off of the picnic table she’d been leaning against. “One dance and that’s all.” “With both of us,” Cam added quickly, pushing the advantage. “It’s only fair. Otherwise, we’ll both dance with you here and now.” There it was. Rafe’s heart soared. Her eyes had flared momentarily, and it wasn’t with disgust. When they had checked into the odd motel at the edge of town, they had decided it would be best to come at her together. She’d been turned on by sex with both of them. They needed to remind her of what they had to offer.

My Review:

If you are a fan of this series you will most definitely want to pick up this book.  It has the same feel as the previous books in the series and yet there was something a little different about it.  I think it was Beth that made this book for me.  I loved watching her come into her own and realizing that she is so much more than what the town has made her believe she is.

Beth "Mouse" Hobbes has been the town 'shy girl' all her life, in her youth they put her in the shadows and she stayed there after finding safety in them.  Thing is while Beth Hobbes might be a bit 'mousey' she is no ones door mat and when Trev comes into town and shows her that she truly shines.

I loved Trev, it was great having this character we have never met before come into town and mix things up. While he is not new to anyone in Deer Run he is new to us and he brings a freshness that we have been missing the last few books.  I mean I don't mind (really don't) books that revolve around people we meet through out a series but sometimes its nice to have a new player come in.  I loved his back story and his fight to overcome.

Bo O'Malley, well, he was a tough one for me.  I didn't really like him in the beginning to be honest.  He was quite the jerk (I'd use a stronger word but then Amazon wouldn't accept my review, soooo) and I hated that about him.  I really had hoped after getting to know him in previous books that we would see a different side of him so it was really disappointing to see that he really was just a jerk all along.  Now, that doesn't mean that I don't end up liking him in the end because I do, but I never fell for him the way that I wanted to.  I wanted him to just be this really misunderstood guy, maybe more of a Lucas, but instead he really was just kind of a goofball who didn't think much farther than his own nose.  Redemption comes but at the price of me ever really making a connection with him.

I enjoyed the relationship between all three main characters, it's a little weird with Bo being kind of just a regular guy in the mix...not a Sub nor a Dom, but they make it work.  I love how they make each other stronger and complete the family that they have each been missing out on one the years. I really enjoyed the introduction and possibility for a few new characters, the look at a character, who we already know the story of, (If you have read Masters and Mercenaries) before he got his HEA (what a sad sad man, hahaha) and the glimpse into the lives of some of the characters we have been growing to love as this series has gone on.  I am so anxious for the next book, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite erotic series.  Lexi Blake never fails to give us all the hot and heart we need with a good deal of suspense thrown in!

~ HAPPY READING ~

Excerpt:

Bo walked up, his boots resounding against the pavement. His dark-blond hair was curling over his shirt collar. He was so beautiful, but in a different way than Trev. His hand came out to touch her shoulder. “What’s wrong?” And he’d always been able to read her when he bothered to try. “I didn’t get the loan.” She tensed a bit. Bo hadn’t wanted her to buy the house in the first place. He would probably tell her it was for the best and now she could sell the land to a developer and move someplace safer and way more boring. “Oh, baby, I’m sorry.” Bo pulled her against his chest right there in the middle of Main Street. He wrapped his arms around her. “I know what that meant to you.” She froze for a moment. He usually kept his affectionate nature private. It was sweet to be held by him, something she’d dreamed of a thousand times. He still smelled like the soap from the shower he’d insisted on taking before they left for town. His well-worn cotton shirt was soft against her cheek, but his chest was all muscle. After a moment, she let herself sink into him. The tears were back. She couldn’t hold them off when he was giving her a place to cry. “I don’t know what to do. They said I don’t qualify. I have to have that money. I can’t fix up the house without it.” His hand found her hair. “It’s going to be okay. We’ll find another bank. Hell, Aidan knows lots of people with money. You’ll see. It’s going to be okay. Now, come on, dry those tears and let’s go get some pie. I was talking to Jerry at the feed store, and he said Patty had pecan today.” She loved pecan pie. Relief washed over her as Bo began to lead her toward the diner. She’d been terrified that Bo would be angry that she was seeing Trev. She’d played it off as nothing, but she’d been scared he would turn away. Instead, he opened the door for her and started to ask her about her plans. He seemed interested for the first time. Bo ordered for them both and then gave her his full attention. He was quieter than she’d ever seen him before. Well, except for that night when she’d had to find her way to Austin to get him. He’d been quieter then. He hadn’t talked for days. She didn’t like to think about that night. “Hey,” Bo said, leaning over and putting a hand over hers. “It’s going to be okay, you know. We’ll find a way to get your house fixed up. Tell me something, is that boyfriend of yours going to be worth anything beyond hauling you into bathrooms in the middle of the day? Does he know anything about home repair?” She flushed, but Bo had said the words with no accusation in his tone, just a sad smile on his face. She shook her head. “He told me to buy a book.” Bo sighed. “We’re in trouble. Well, show me your plans. Let’s see how screwed we are.” He gave her that smile that lit up her world and reminded her of all the reasons she’d fallen in love with him in the first place. He was a sunny presence. He always made her laugh, and deep down, he understood her. Trev was her lover, but she would miss Bo. She would miss him so much. She showed him her list, and by the time they were done, she felt better. She would find a way. She would fix her house, and she would keep Trev and Bo in her life. She needed them.

Book Description:

Stefan Talbot likes order and control. He approaches his life with the same meticulous precision that he uses to put paint on his canvas. Nothing good comes from chaos, and that is why he has refused to allow himself to get close to Jennifer Waters. They are like fire and ice. Though she is younger, her talent as an artist is unquestionable. But she lives her life like she paints—with wild, passionate abandon. It is intoxicating and terrifying, and he can’t get her out of his head.

Jennifer ran from Bliss to put Stef behind her. She had come to the mountain town seeking a mentor but found much more than she bargained for. Cool and distant, Stef was like a marble statue and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t break through his shell. She moved to Dallas to start over, but nothing is going as planned. When the art gallery where she works is robbed and a precious painting is stolen, Jen is accused of the theft. Jen is thrilled when her bail is met, until she realizes her savior is Stef and he has a few conditions. First and foremost, she has to return to Bliss.

Against the backdrop of the Winter Festival, Stef and Jen’s attraction catches fire. But the dark forces behind the robbery in Dallas have followed Jen home. A criminal syndicate believes she still has the stolen painting and they’ll kill to get their hands on it.

My Review:

I just fall harder and harder with each of these books that Lexi Blake re-releases from her Sophie Oak days.  I wish in a way that I had found these sooner so I could have enjoyed them before we knew it was Lexi under Sophie's pen name and then reading them again with the little tweaks that Lexi gives each book.

I was really happy to get to Stef's book.  He's been such a major fixture in all the Night's in Bliss stories, what with being the town proclaimed 'King' of Bliss.  Stef controls every aspect of his life and his life revolves around the town of Bliss, his happiness revolves around the town of Bliss so he controls Bliss (don't think tyrant or dictator just a man in control, in need of control.) and the people who live there with him.  He has the means to take care of his little town and he doesn't hesitate to do it.   He is exactly the person that I expected him to be, though a little more broken.  Luckily he has a woman who refuses to give up on him and teaches him that love doesn't have to be shown by using 'giving' your cash, but by giving your heart.

I will say that the back and forth between Jennifer and Stefan did get a little frustrating there for a bit but once you know the whole story it is easier to understand and accept and the moments when they are together and not worried about the world around them are the best moments.  I loved that Stefan does what he feels he needs to do no matter when or where it happens.  I so enjoyed meeting Stef's dad and I would love (and maybe it happens and I just don't know it yet) to get a book for him with more back story.  I was ENTHRALLED with Alexei!  Honestly, he took over the story just a little bit, he's such a compelling character.  I am THRILLED to know that we will be getting his story.

This is another wonderful addition to the series and is a total 'wet your appetite' book getting you ready for more of Bliss.  One thing, all these books can be read as standalones, though it's nice to meet each character as they are introduced but totally not necessary.  So jump on in where ever you want and just enjoy the fun of Bliss!

~ HAPPY READING ~

Excerpt:

Stef turned back to Jen. “Let’s move, Jennifer. I have a plane ready. We need to be at Love Field in an hour. I have an officer waiting to process you out.” Jen’s head whirled. “Plane?” “Yes, plane. We’re going back to Bliss.” “No way.” Cool, gray eyes slitted, and she could practically feel the will rolling off him. Stef was tense, and she knew it was a bad idea to push him, but she couldn’t help it. “I’m serious, Stef. I’m not going anywhere with you.” She couldn’t go back to Bliss. Panic threatened to swamp her. He was here. He was right here in front of her, and her heart didn’t give a damn that he was a bastard. For the first time in months, she felt desire for something besides her art. She couldn’t, wouldn’t, go down that path again. He got into her space, a move he’d perfected seemingly long before he met her. She held her ground. Even though he didn’t touch her physically, he seemed to surround her. Suddenly her whole world was Stef, his gray eyes, the heat of his body, his masculine, clean scent. He filled her every sense. “I’m not going home with you.” She forced herself to say the words. His lips hitched up. “At least you admit Bliss is your home.” That wasn’t what she’d meant. Bliss, Colorado, had felt like home when she’d been there, but she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Bliss wasn’t big enough for the two of them. “It’s your home. Hell, Stef, it’s your little kingdom, and you like to play the king, don’t you?” “Yes, because everyone does what I say.” Stef’s low growl made her breath speed up. “Everyone in Bliss bows down to me. Have you been gone for so long that you forget Max regularly kicks my ass? And Nell and Henry are currently protesting my gardening practices.” He was too close for comfort. She gave in and took a step back. She could see plainly that he was satisfied with her discomfort. “Don’t try to play the poor rich boy with me. You’re a puppet master. You like to pull the strings and see how people dance. Well, I’m not in your kingdom anymore, and there’s no way you can get me there again. So you can take your money and go back to Colorado.” It was stupid. Even as she said the words, she wanted to take them back. She’d spent the last twenty-four hours terrified in a jail cell. She would have to be the stupidest woman in the world to turn him down, but she’d never thought around Stef. Since the moment she’d met him, she’d been a quivering mass of emotion and desire every time he entered a room. “Stubborn thing. I’ll make it easy on you.” His hands caught hers, and before she could think she felt cold metal surrounding her wrists. He flicked the cuffs on with the cool precision of a man who often cuffed the women in his life. “What are you doing?” She stared at her hands. At least this time they were in front of her. She preferred it that way. Damn, her life had taken a wrong turn when she could compare and contrast her experiences with men who handcuffed her. “Taking you home, Jennifer. Whether you like it or not.” He leaned down and picked her up. She was in his arms, nestled close to his chest. She looked up at the square, inflexible line of his jaw. His arms tightened around her, and she was caged more closely than she’d been in the holding cell. She had the suspicion that this time Stef would be harder to escape from than before. He kicked open the door and started down the hall. Yep, like it or not, she was going back to Bliss.

If you have been reading the Texas Sirens Series from the first book then you know, this is the book we've all been waiting for.  There has been so much build up between Lexi and Lucas and the mysterious Aidan and it all comes to a head in Siren Beloved.

First things first, Lucas!  I feel like we have truly watched a transformation over the series with this young man.  He goes from the lost boy who acts out for attention to a strong loving man who's true life goal is to care for the people he loves.  I have to admit that this relationship with Lexi has puzzled me for some time, I never quite grasped what was going on between the two of them until this book, and I am sure that is just as Lexi Blake planned it.  So many times I wondered what the heck those two were doing together, they both have a strong will and mind but are weak in their essentials as some might say and first think, but as it turns out they aren't near as weak as they have seemed, they are in fact incredibly emotionally strong.  It seems that everything you may have thought isn't quite the truth of the matter when it comes to this trio.

Lexi, so I have had mixed feelings about Lexi Moore for a while.  She has for sometime comes across as carless and self-centered.  She has led Lucas through the hoops, relying on him to fix her mistakes and keep her in line, sadly he's too soft when it comes to Lexi and when we all would have said, tell her to straighten up or toss her out the door' he was soothing her and petting her trying to keep her happy and with him.  While yes, Lexi had a lot of growing up to do, and she does in this book, she also has a lot that she has had to deal with, a lot that no one except Lucas has known about.  Knowing what you will learn in this book, you can understand Lucas's 'soft hand' with her, but also we can truly see why she's acted out the way she has and why she's had so many of her family worried.

Now Aidan, you are going to fall in love with Aidan immediately.  In fact you are going to wonder why Lexi just can't see the tree through the leaves and fall to her knees and profess her undying love right from the get go...but then where would the story be, haha.  I will admit, Aidan went about everything all the wrong way, but he was scared of his feelings and scared of other people's opinions. It's kind of interesting that he ran because he was scared but he came back also because he was scared...scared of not ever being able to tell the people he loves most that he was wrong and that he needs them as much as they need him.  I loved his strength, his strength to overcome, his physical strength, his strength as a Dom, and his strength to give his love to Lexi and Lucas in the ways that they both need it.

This was probably my favorite Texas Siren book to date.  I just loved the way that Lexi Blake seamlessly ties in the romance, mystery, intrigued, angst, and 'sexy times'.  One thing I love about Lexi Blake's writing and particularly in this book is that she is able to give us these highly erotic steamy moments (you will never look at a barn the same way) and they feel perfectly placed and not out of character.  You know how sometimes you're reading a book and all the sudden the characters go from mad/sad/sleeping/working/whatever to in the throes of passion and all you can do is roll your eyes and say...wait, how did we get here?  You won't feel/think that with this book.  It all just works!  I feel like that should be a tag line for Lexi Blake 'She just makes it work'!,  Haha.

Now I can't wait to get my hands on Bo's book. Bo is Aidan's little brother and I adored him.  He is (seemingly) a blend of Aidan and Lucas and I just want more!  This has been a really fun series to read.  I did not read it when it first released so it has been really enjoyable getting a look into this new word while also watching the growth of what would become Masters and Mercenaries.  Knowing what I know now about that group it is fun to see where they began.  You can read this book as a stand-alone with in this series but I highly recommend reading the first three books, just so you have that background about who Lexi and Lucas are.  It won't lessen your enjoyment if you don't but it will enhance it if you do, if that makes sense at all.  You will love the character development for all three characters in this book as well as the development of their triad.  I so look forward to seeing a little of them in future books and discovering where there story will take them in the future.

~ HAPPY READING ~

Excerpt:

Lexi realized she was in serious trouble the minute the words left Lucas’s mouth. Hell, she’d realized she was in trouble the minute she opened her mouth. What was she thinking? She knew damn well how to behave in a dungeon, but something about this Master made her want to push him. Damn it. She’d been this way all of her life. She had to push. She thought about taking a step back, but before she could make her feet move, Master A had her in a fireman’s hold. “Hey!” She shouted as her world upended. She turned her head up to throw a desperate look Lucas’s way. Lucas stood there, a stony cold look on his face. In that moment, he was all Dom, and she’d never seen him look hotter. There was a confidence about him she had rarely seen when he was around her. Lucas was utterly in command at work, but his surety faltered when she walked into the room. Even when he performed a scene with her, she knew he worried about her comfort. He didn’t look worried now. He looked ready. Her heart started to pound as Master A turned, and she lost sight of Lucas. “I need a chair, Lucas.” The words came out of the Master’s mouth like a judge delivering a sentence. “Yes, Sir.” Lucas’s words were silky smooth. There was not a hint of hesitation now. She could hear him moving to do Master A’s bidding. “What do you think you’re doing?” she asked, though she was a bit less hostile now. She’d fucked up. She was glad Julian wasn’t around to witness it, though Leo would probably tell him. Tears pricked her eyes. Damn, she was proving to Leo she couldn’t handle the lifestyle. “Look, Sir, I’m sorry. It was wrong of me to be rude to you, but I was merely pointing out that Lucas and I had a plan for tonight.” Reason. She could reason with him, surely. It worked on all the men in her life. Of course, usually she was looking at them instead of trying to plead her case to a group of back muscles. The muscles were unbelievably tight, but his skin—oh, his skin had been decimated in his lower back. It was a mess of white, puckered flesh, and she could see both neat, surgical lines, and jagged edges. She reached out to touch the mass of scars, but she was jerked back over his shoulder and set on her feet before she could make it. She wobbled on her heels, but Master A’s big hands held her shoulders. “I don’t think you understand how this is going to go, sub. I am the Master, and you are the one being punished. I won’t put up with a spoiled princess telling me how her punishment will go. It will go the way I say it will go. First, you will pay for the insult to me, and then we’ll proceed to the sawhorse.” “I don’t like the sawhorse.” The words came out breathy and small, because she was beginning to understand that this was serious. Master A didn’t look like he was planning on giving in. And she hated being called a spoiled princess, but a part of her worried that he was right. The last few years, she’d allowed herself to become spoiled and dependent. She’d fled from everything that hurt her. She’d hidden. She’d let her stepfathers and Lucas coddle and provide for her so she didn’t have to face the truth. Master A didn’t flinch. “I don’t care. Lucas has done the best he can, but the truth is he wasn’t trained to be a Dom. He might enjoy it from time to time, but he prefers bottoming. You require a firm hand. If you don’t want it, then you’re free to leave. No one is holding you against your will. This is all about consensual play, so you have to make the choice. Do you want the session to continue?” She hated this part. This was the part that she’d never understood. She had to make the choice, and she couldn’t put it off on anyone else. She wanted for him to simply do it. Then she could blame him later, but that wasn’t what The Club was about. She’d been coming here for over a year, and she finally had to decide to make the choice—stay and put herself in the hands of a stranger, or go and never know what it was like. And then there was the fact that Master A was right. Lucas needed something she couldn’t give him. She cast her eyes down submissively. How bad could it be? “Yes, Sir.” “Then strip.”

Excerpt:

Callie Sheppard was startled by the sound of the door opening. She sat straight up in bed and wondered what the hell she was doing. It had seemed like a great idea at the time, but now a tremor of trepidation ran through her system. She was naked in a notorious BDSM club, waiting for two men to walk in and take her virginity. It wasn’t that she minded losing her virginity. She wasn’t doing anything interesting with it in the first place. It needed to go, but now she worried this wasn’t the way to do it. She wanted some affection and kindness. Would they give that to her? Oh, god, Stef had found her two guys for her birthday. She’d made him a loaf of zucchini bread and shared a bottle of cheap wine for his. What was she doing? Could she run? She was naked. That didn’t really bother her, but it could confound a lot of people. “Hello.” The deepest voice she’d ever heard pulled her from her panic. She turned and hoped there wasn’t a line of drool running out of her mouth as she caught sight of them. Best birthday present ever. Stef might be straight, but he knew how to pick gorgeous men. She climbed as gracefully as she could off the big bed and faced them. They were perfect. The one who had spoken was tall. She doubted she would reach his shoulders when she stood against him. He was at least six and a half feet, and his body was corded with muscle. Every piece of him seemed chiseled out of granite. He was male model perfection, with a strong jaw and piercing green eyes. His hair was inky black and curled sweetly over his ears. His partner wasn’t quite as tall but still was no small man. He was a few inches shorter than the gorgeous monster, and his body held a lean strength. If the black-haired devil was a linebacker, this man was a swimmer. His eyes were a stark blue. His skin was sun kissed and smooth. Callie was fascinated with the idea of soft skin covering steel. His hair was cut in a military style. It was a rich brown. The intimate light of the room caught the gold and red streaks. He looked like a man who laughed often. Everything inside her heated up at the sight of them, and she wasn’t so scared anymore. Why the hell would she run from all that hotness? And they were handpicked by a man who would never, ever hurt her. She was safe with them. “Hello.” It seemed like a dumb thing to say to two glorious men when she was naked as the day she was born, but it was all she could think of. “Hello, Callie.” The other man’s voice was deep, too, but there was an inherent friendliness to his Texas accent. It looked like Stef had found her a couple of cowboys. The blue-eyed man watched her. He gave her a small, calm smile, like he didn’t want to scare her. “Are you nervous, sweetheart? We don’t want you to be. Nothing happens here that you don’t want. All you have to do is say the word and everything stops.” Their eyes were on her body. Callie had never thought much about her body before. It was a natural thing. She’d grown up in a household where nudity wasn’t frowned on. She was comfortable in her skin, only now she wasn’t. Now she was starting to feel hot and restless. They weren’t avoiding her private parts the way the nudists politely did back in Bliss. These men stared boldly at her breasts, and her breasts seemed to be staring right back. Her nipples were hard nubs. “Do I get a safe word?” The question came out on a breathy sigh. She’d always wanted to know what it felt like to truly submit. Stefan’s subs always seemed satisfied. The blue-eyed man’s mouth turned down. “Your safe word is no. We don’t have to play games. All you have to do is say no and we stop.” “But we can play games if you want to.” That came from the big guy. His husky voice did all sorts of things to her libido. He walked boldly up to her and placed his hands on her hips. His touch lit up her skin. “Do you want to play, darlin’?” Oh, yeah, she wanted to play.

My Review:

I thoroughly enjoy this series for just some light but not so light reading if that makes any sense.  The Texas Siren series is an easy series to get yourself lost in for just a little while, they are emotional stories typically of heart break of some kind a redemption but at the same time it's not so heavy that you feel anxious through out the story.  These books are like little guilty pleasures that you just can't get enough of.

I Have been so excited to get Julian's story.  We have seen more and more of him through the last two previous books and I feel for him pretty darn quickly.  He's one of those broody rich type with some serious alpha male/DOM tendencies and you just knew that despite the show he put on he was just a broken boy own the inside, one that just needed to be loved, but was too afraid to truly let anyone(s) in. That is until a runaway bride jumps in his car and her 'gay' BFF and true love come barreling into his vacation and completely rearrange his life.  Julian was everything I expected him to be. Strong, determined, powerful, dominant.  He was also soft hearted, confused, and anxiety prone at times.  I have to say his wishy-washyness got to me every now and again even when I know that he's just struggling with the belief that he can love and truly be loved.

Finn and Dani are a great pair, I actually worried that Julian wouldn't be able to find his place with them for a while.  They are so tied together that I wasn't sure there would be room for him.  I loved that they played off of each other so well.  When one was unsure the other was confident.  When one needs to be reminded of their worth the other is there to build them up.  They play so amazingly well off of Julian that now I can honestly say I can't see having this story gone any other way.  I loved that Dani once she caught on to Julian's personal challenges never gives up.  I love that Finn is willing to truly give himself over to Julian just so he can also give himself to Dani.  This entire menage is a gentle give and take that works out beautifully.

I despised Dani's sister, I am half in love with JimBob...they tried to make him out to be this redneck country bumpkin but in fact he's just a really good guy in the end.  I hate Willow Fork, that whole town needs a Come to Jesus moment, but not the kind they would think they deserve, lol.  I loved seeing Ian and Alex again.  They just break my heart, these glimpses of them from their pasts.  I know how their worlds have ended up but seeing them before their HEA is just heart breaking at times but so wonderful too.  I am so anxious to get my hands on Siren Beloved.  I have fallen hard for both Lexi (Abbi's Daughter) and Logan (Jack's brother), then there is the mysterious ex boyfriend who we have had small glimpses of and plays a major role (of course) in their story.

IF you are looking for an easy reading series with a bit (well more than a bit) of a 'naughty' side definitely pick up this series.  I do suggest starting from book one just so you know as much about Julian as you can before going into this book but it isn't completely necessary, you could technically read this as a standalone but I just think you'll feel like you missed a little something.  These are not novella's but they aren't long reads either so they're great for a quick weekend or evening read.  They are MMF menage books with BDSM in the mix so just know that before going in, wouldn't want you surprised or anything, ha.

~ HAPPY READING ~

Excerpt:

“What on earth is that look for?” Julian stared down at her, his lips pulled up in obvious amusement. Finn leaned over so he could be heard over the loud music. “I think Dani is enjoying her role as town harlot.” Julian frowned. “Harlot? Why would she be a harlot?” Dani and Finn laughed together. For the first time, they completely understood something Julian didn’t. “This is a small town, Sir,” Finn explained. “All anyone is going to talk about tomorrow is the fact that Dani Bay snuck up the stairs at The Barn with two guys. Trust me, she is going to be called all kinds of names. Mostly to her back, though.” She shrugged. It was to be expected. At least no one would be feeling sorry for her. Julian’s face went dark, and his fingers tightened around hers. “They had better not say anything where I can hear it.” He relaxed and nodded down at her. “I’m going to speak with Jackson, dear. You and Finn stay together. We’ll be leaving shortly. We’ll retrieve Finn’s things and go back out to the ranch.” He turned and walked off, supremely confident that his orders would be met. He turned back suddenly. “And stay out of trouble.” Dani grinned. He didn’t look so confident that she would follow that edict. He walked away. She watched his gorgeous ass as it disappeared into the crowd. When she turned, she noticed that Finn was watching, too. “I’m sorry.” Finn pulled back slightly, his hand coming out of hers. That look was back in his eyes. “Are you going to be an asshole?” she asked. “What?” “I thought we worked through this, but it looks like you’re going to be an asshole.” She wasn’t putting up with it. Maybe she would have before but being with them had changed her. Being with Julian and Finn together seemed to have altered something fundamental in Dani. It had been beautiful. She’d never felt as deeply as she did when they were kissing her, loving her. There had been that terrible moment when she was sure Julian was leaving, but he’d stayed. He had to care about her. He cared, and Finn cared. She wasn’t going to let anyone take that away from her or make her feel ashamed. That was hers. Finn stared almost blankly and then shook his head. “I’m sorry. I spent so long trying to hide this from you.” “Hide what? That I knew you were gay? I was well aware of that. Why did you get upset because I caught you drooling over Julian’s ass?” His eyes slid down. “Damn it, Dani. This is why I stayed away. I knew it should be only the two of us, but I wasn’t sure I could do it. I’m not sure I can stay away from men.” Julian was shaking his head at Jack, who seemed to be teasing him something fierce. Dani stared at him for a moment. She noticed she wasn’t the only one. All around her, other women had their eyes on the hot new guy. They could look, but Julian was hers. He might not know it, but she planned on keeping him. And Finn. As soon as they ironed out a few things. “And it never occurred to you to say, hey, Dani, here’s the problem. Let’s see if we can solve it? No, you decide to keep your mouth shut and almost let me marry someone I didn’t love because you didn’t want to admit you’re bi.” “Damn it, I didn’t want to lose you. I love you, Danielle. You’re the only thing in my life that’s permanent. I would rather keep you in my life than lose you because I can’t be normal. It should be two people. A marriage should be two people.” Oh, yes, she had to fix his way of thinking. “Says who? The old biddies at church? Screw them. Why does everything have to be one way? What we did up there didn’t hurt anyone. It isn’t anyone’s business but ours. I love you, Finn, but I think I’m falling for Julian, too. Can you handle that?” “I can certainly try, baby. I was willing to love you from afar. I prefer loving you up close.”
