Book Description:
Women often say a good man is hard to find. And a hard man is even better.

That’s why I’m quite a catch— good, hard, loaded, and wait for it…I’m ready to settle down too. But the woman I want to pitch my tent with lives clear across the country. Neither of us wants to get lost in those woods. All I have to do is resist her for the week she's in town.

I try. I swear I try. But yeah, that doesn't work out.

And after one fantastic night with my good friend Mia, I’m ready to give her years of nights under the stars. What's a few thousand miles when love's involved? But there’s a hitch in my plans — she just hired my adventure tour company. If there’s one thing I’m committed to, it’s running a squeaky clean business. Number one on my list of iron-clad rules?

Don’t screw your customers.

But what's a guy to do when she's so hard to resist? How hard can it be to keep our hands off each other for a quick group tour down the hills and over the trails? I’m about to find out, and I have a feeling I’m going to need a new badge of honor because things are about to get very hard in the woods.

My Review:

Just as I expected this was another great book from Lauren Blakley.  When I am looking for a Rom-Com she is my go to author, and she never fails me.  I will say this one felt a little more intense than her last several in this series, but maybe that is because it is the final couple in the Big Rock family and I am certainly not complaining about it just wanted to me it didn't feel as light harder as some of her past books.

I loved this couple.  I loved more that Patrick knew exactly what he wanted, I love that the unknowing made them both nervous to speak their feelings but in the end they knew that to not be honest with each other would be the hardest choice but the best choice to make.  My absolute favorite part is talks with Zeus, (the cat) seeing the world through his eyes just gave me so much laughter and he plays a huge role in this couple's story.  I can't wait for you to meet him.

Hard Wood is simply another great addition into the Big Rock family.  It is a quick read with out any emo-ish type drama, that drama that gives me anxiety and makes me want to throw books, not it this one and I love it even more for that.  Of course there are challenges for this couple, it wouldn't be much of a story if there weren't but the challenges are both realistic and worked through with a maturity that I completely appreciate.  This is a great book to bring you off the edge of a book hangover or just to make you happy when you need a break from the real world.

I listened to Hard Wood through Audible and just want to mention that Sebastian York (as audio listeners have come to expect) does an amazing job.  As if the story itself doesn't let you lose yourself in their world Mr. York's voice will lull you right into feeling like you are there watching it all happen.  Sebastian York isn't just a narrator of a story he is truly a voice actor so if you've been wondering if you would like an audio book I can highly suggest any of the Big Rock series to you because of the narrator.

This is a great read that you will be able to finish in one sitting and feel truly at peace with the end of the story and the series.  I am going to miss the Big Rock family but have really enjoyed the journey, thank you Lauren Blakely for giving us such a wonderful and fun escape!
