Book Description:

In a small town, rumor is everything…
Life came easy to him.
Town playboy Aidric Jones has it all: money, women, a life without responsibility.  Until his house burns down and a daughter he doesn't know lands on his doorstep. No one expects him to step up, to grow up, but he finds disappointment is different when someone is counting on him.
And everyone is whispering…
Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks everyone knew Olivia Buckley was going to end up pregnant and stuck in River City with a deadbeat boyfriend. Now she’s a single mom working for her parent’s construction company, unable to escape a reputation she hates. She’s fighting like hell to make a life for herself and her son, to prove everyone wrong.
They’re two people with nothing in common except a falling down house, two angry kids, and a town full of rumors--but maybe that’s enough
They’ll give them something to talk about…

My Review:

I have to say that Nazarea is really hitting it out of the park for me with the River Street Bar series.  I am throughly falling in love with her characters and this town, all though I would like to take them to task on some of their gossipy opinions, particularly after this book, lol.  I find that the characters in this series are so relatable and just totally down to earth people.  These are everyday people just trying to live their best lives and while I enjoy a bad boy millionaire and the sweet submissive poor secretary he falls in love with as much as the next person, it's so refreshing to just get a story of regular folks, ones I can relate to and understand.

I adored Ollie, she is a little bull headed but she has every right to be.  I loved her strength and her compassion.  She's the kind of mom that we all wish we could be.  In fact several times through the book I just kept thinking out Rusty Nail could be as much a guide to parenting as it is a romantic escape.  I loved that even though she thinks she's been settling all these years due to circumstances what she has actually been doing is making a happy home for both her and Theo, it just takes a special someone to realize just how happy she truly is.

Aidric, I have a little beef with Aidric and it comes in the form of wanting to smack him upside the head for his mean years of playboy ways, but the past is the past and I appreciate that he doesn't let small town gossip turn him into something he isn't and that when he sees what could be his future in front of him he doesn't hesitate to work for it.  I love that when faced with a difficult situation he steps up to the plate and commits fully!

Together they are a wonderful couple, they as any couple, have their ups and downs.  Life might be a bit more challenging for them in the beginning because they have others that have to come before themselves, but they make it work.  You know that they are going to weather the test of time because they have the desire to make things work.  They are steamy together, Aidric a little bit cocky Ollie a little bit of a dirty talker...I kinda wish we'd seen more of that from the two of them, but in the end Nazarea put in just the right amount of 'sexy times' to go along with a beautiful romance.

Let's talk Theo and Kendra and how I am already hoping Nazarea is going to somehow work a Stepbrother story into the mix, haha.  These two are absolutely adorable and I just want more and more of them.  I want to watch them grow and come into their own.  I loved Theo's compassion and Kendra's spunkiness.  I want a closet full of tulle skirts (for my daughters I swear) now.  I wish that Kendra had more of an opportunity to go full circle with her bully, but other than that her personal story, and Theo's is just heart warming.  To watch this young girl who has lost (almost) everything shine again and with the help of her sweet friends Theo and Henry.

All in all this book was just a total win for me.  I loved just about everything about it and am so ready for more.  Rusty Nail is a book that will give you all the feels with its cross of light heartedness missed into a deeply moving story about life, death, happiness, and love.  You will fall hard for all f these characters (though Natalie...girl, I sure hope you have a book coming and you get a taste of your own medicine, lol) and just want to be a member of their community.  These are characters and a community you as the reader can relate to and just feel comfortable and homey with.  Thanks Nazarea for another great read...now bring on the next book!  ;-)
