Book Description:

Once upon a time, a boy and a girl fell in love…but prestige, power, and a shameful secret drove them apart.

Julia fled abroad after the death of her husband, Lord Fallthorpe. She has finally returned to England, but little has changed.

Except for her.

As a dowager marchioness, Julia lives and loves where she pleases. And the obnoxious son of her dead husband does not please. But what can an independent woman do? Why, create a scandal, of course!

Viscount Wolfington is no stranger to the wagging tongues of the ton. Between being a Lustful Lord and the scandal of his birth, he learned long ago that society had little use for him. So when he walks into The Market and finds the woman who once stole his heart being auctioned for a night of debauchery, he jumps at another chance to hold her--even for just a single night.

As Julia and Wolf unravel their pasts, will villainy win again, or will love finally conquer all?

My Review:

There is just something about this series that I adore.  It could be that it's historical romance, which has turned into a favorite genre I never knew I needed, it could be that it's steamy, it could be that it's got a bit of an edge to it, it could just be those darn Lustful Lords!  Whatever it is I am always craving more!

One thing I have come to love and appreciate about Sorcha's books is that she just puts us right into the middle of the action.  There isn't a long drawn out beginning, heck now.  First things first, lets auction of the heroine (by her choice) to a randy crowd of Peers!  Luckily for our heroine a few Lustful Lords happen to be at The Market that night, especially one in particular, Wulf, who just happens to notice something about the lady putting herself on the auction block!  Taken aback when he realizes that his childhood friend and love Julia is the mysterious (or not so) woman selling her body to the highest bidder, he does the only thing he can, enlists the help of friend Line to win her!

Of course his good intentions of just getting her off the auction block and finding out why she's there and what is happening go straight out the window and right into one of the hottest ménage scenes ever!  Which just let me detour and say I can NOT wait to get Linc's story now!  Like, if the book hadn't ended right there I may have been just as happy...well not really, but I certainly would not have been disappointed, HA!

I loved the two main characters, we all know I love all the Lustful Lords and it was truly wonderful seeing them come together again, especially the ladies who are bonding and creating amazing friendships, but I truly enjoyed both Wulf and Julia.  I loved that Julia was going to get/take what she needed, be damned society who had placed her in a terrible situation when she was young, now she would do life her way and everyone else could just bugger off!  Even with that fiery spirit of hers, I loved that in the end what truly matters the most to her is her family, her sister...keeping her protected.  She is a woman with so much spirt but an even bigger heart.  And dear Wulf, he's just a wonderful hero. Society and the 'standards' of the day hadn't just hurt Julia, they also caused Wulf immeasurable pain by essentially putting the one thing he wants most out of his reach.  I loved that he wasn't the typical Alpha male who starts off as a jerk and then you see his heart, no Wulf is just all heart from the beginning.  He's been hurt, he's afraid to truly love, but he will do what ever it takes to protect those he cares for.

These books are some of my favorites because I feel like the step a bit outside the expected box of a Historical Romance.  As I have said before they aren't 'your mother's historical romances'!  If you are not comfortable with a bit of BDSM or ménage these may not be the book for you, just know that it is in there before you dive in.  One of my biggest pet peeves is someone reviewing a book poorly because they didn't like the content that they could have easily avoided by looking into the book first...but that's a while different topic.  These Lustful Lords books are fun of heart, laughs, (oh those 'Lustful Ladies') tons of steam, and wonderful friendships and romances.  If you don't mind a little erotica in your historical do not miss these reads!

AUTHOR INFORMATION:

Sorcha Mowbray is a mild mannered office worker by day…okay, so she is actually a mouthy, opinionated, take charge kind of gal who bosses everyone around; but she definitely works in an office. At night she writes romance so hot she sets the sheets on fire! Just ask her slightly singed husband.
She is a longtime lover of historical romance, having grown up reading Johanna Lindsey and Judith McNaught. Then she discovered Thea Devine and Susan Johnson. Holy cow! Heroes and heroines could do THAT? From there, things devolved into trying her hand at writing a little smexy. Needless to say, she liked it and she hopes you do too!
