Book Description:

There's danger in the beauty... Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That's how long it had been since I'd seen my winged hero— not that I'd been counting. I'd suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn't crazy and knew he didn't exist. But he did. And I was done waiting. Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier... thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.

Excerpt:

We stood awkwardly for another moment before I had to break the silence. “It’s been a while.” “Two and a half years.” “I thought about you the past few Halloweens.” “I thought about you more than that. It’s actually pretty humiliating now that I’m standing in the same room with you. I don’t know what I was thinking.” She looked away. “I lied.” “About?” I walked toward her. I had to wipe that regret off her face. “I thought about you a lot more than just Halloween.” “Yeah?” “Yeah.” I stopped right in front of her. “You were very memorable.” “So were you.” She licked her lips. Again with the lips. “I probably should ask you a million questions right now, but would it be okay if we put those off and did something else?” “I guess that depends on what else you want to do?” Her eyes widened slightly. “I want to kiss you.” “I’m okay with that.” Her eyes seemed to sparkle. “Yeah?” “Yeah.” I didn’t wait for her to change her mind. I brushed my lips against hers gently. I was going to keep it short, but I had to know if I was glorifying the last kiss. She moved her lips against mine, and any thoughts of keeping it short disappeared. I wrapped my arms around her as I deepened the kiss, greedily pushing for access beyond those irresistible lips of hers. She opened up, welcoming me in with the same intoxicating taste as she had the last time. She moaned, encouraging me to continue the kiss. I didn’t need the encouragement. I lifted her up and carried her over to the couch. I sat down, settling her on my lap. I needed her close, closer than standing would allow. Her fingers tangled in my hair as she let me explore her mouth. My hands ached to explore more, but I didn’t want to rush it. I’d waited over two years to taste her lips again, and I was going to enjoy every second of it.

 My Review:

Two Years after having her life upended by a series of terrifying events, a brush with death, her rescue, and subsequent years spent in therapy while everyone around her thinks she is crazy, Daisy returns to New Orleans determined to find the 'man' she can't get out of her head.

This book is a bit difficult to review there are a lot of twists and turns moving the plot along and it is difficult not to give anything away.  Let's begin with talking about Daisy.  I am of two minds about this heroine.  I love her initiative, I love that she has never given up on finding Owen even though no one believed her, knowing that her mother wanted to have her institutionalized.  I love her sarcastic nature and her willingness to do what it takes to get what she wants.  On that note, sometimes I think that girl has no sense what so every, haha.  She walked into so many situations where the rest of the world would have given a big old *heck* no and turned running.  Of course in the back of your mind you know she HAS to make these decisions to get where she is going, but man girl, if that had been me I'd have been murdered by some crazy by now.

Thankfully she isn't me and she doesn't always take her gut instinct and run with it or we wouldn't have been introduced to Violet, Hugh, and Roland.  Three paranormal beings thought to have left earth hundreds of years ago.  Beings with such amazing gifts that they are both revered and feared by the rest of the paranormal community, Allures. I don't want to get into exactly what a Allure is because that will take away one of the main plots of the book, but they are pretty awesome although very aloof and evasive with their information.  I have to say that is the one thing that got to me most is how no one would tell Daisy anything.  You just want to yell at them to just tell her already...as the reader we may not see the whole picture but you know the underlying pieces and to have them held from the main character makes you want to smack people around, haha.  It is going to be incredibly interesting to see how this all plays out in the series, will the Allures help or hurt Daisy, what will become of them all?

I can't leave off with out talking about Owen.  I love Owen.  He is an amazing character with so much heart and soul.  You expect that he is going to be this entitled jerk of a guy knowing that he is the Kinds Adviser but instead he is a bit of a loner, a calm, caring presence who in the whole scheme of things just wants to be loved and love in return.  I can't get enough of his character and especially his character with Daisy.  I missed them not having a huge part together in this book, but once they were together the story just exploded for me. Up until then it felt more like a nice simmer and then boom, there it is all action, steam, romance, fear, love....everything.

I am really looking forward to the next book in the series, Alyssa leaves us all anxious and eager for more. Before you start Lure I do suggest you grab up a copy of the Prequel Novella, Seduction's Kiss to get the background story and like me who hasn't read the Cresent Chronicles (The Allue Chronicles is a spin off from that series) I think you will be running out to add those books to your TBR, I definitely want to see the world Owen comes from (there are little things said in Lure, that having read those books will help you to understand) and well just to get more Owen!

If you like Paranormal New Adult reads that come with a nice guy, a determined girl, and a lot of twists and turns you will enjoy this series!

Don't miss SEDUCTION'S KISS, the prequel novella to Lure (The Allure Chronicles #1)...

Book Description:

Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she reconnects with an ex-boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my advice:

1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire's nest mates
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero

Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when no one believes you that he exists.
