Book Description:

Sparks fly between a former cop-turned-bartender and his new innkeeper in the first installment of a Montgomery Ink spin-off series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.
Dare Collins is a man who knows his whiskey and women—or at least that’s what he tells himself. When his family decides to hire on a new innkeeper for the inn above his bar and restaurant, he’s more than reluctant. Especially when he meets the new hire. But he’ll soon find that he has no choice but to work with this city girl and accept her new ideas and the burning attraction between them.
Kenzie Owens left her old life and an abusive relationship behind her—or so she thought. She figures she’ll be safe in Whiskey, Pennsylvania but after one look at her new boss, Dare Collins, she might still be in danger, or at least her heart. And when her past catches up with her despite her attempts to avoid it, it’s more than her heart on the line. This time, it might mean her life.

My Review:

What happens when former police officer and now bar owner, Dare Collins gets blind sided by his parents, he gets blindsided by the woman destined to steal his heart.  Kenzie Owens is on the run from her old life, one she couldn't be happier to never look upon again.  In an attempt to escape an abusive past she takes on a job managing a family hotel in Whiskey, PA.  Little does she know that she's walking into a tense family situation.  Dare can't believe it when Kenzie walks through the door.  This woman that set his body burning when he saw her in his bar the night before is also the woman that is going to turn his business and world upside down, his body and his mind are at complete odds

This is another great book form Carrie Ann Ryan and I am really excited about the way that this series started.  I loved the attraction these two characters had for each other, it was a love/hate type of situation.  A little instalove and a whole lot of not wanting the instalove.

If you loved Montgomery Ink, you will love Whiskey and Lies, not only did we meet the three brothers this series will revolve around in Montgomery Ink but it has the same strong family ties that make you want to walk out the door and go join a new (kidding, but not really) family.  There is also the suspense twist that we have come to expect with Montgomery Ink that I love so much.  That suspense heightens all the emotions but doesn't over take the main point of the story, finding the love of 'your' life.

These Collin's boys are going to have you hooked from page one if you weren't hooked already from your early introduction to them.  While this is a bit of a spin-off from Montgomery Ink you in no way need to have read that series to start this one, but you are going to want to anyway so go on and get that one click finger ready.  I found Whiskey Secrets to be a fast paced, well developed story that had me completely engrossed and I am so ready for the next brother...bring them on!

~ HAPPY READING ~
